I have been providing trauma treatment, training, and consultation for over 30 years. The resiliency of the human spirit is what inspires me most. In my private practice I am available to meet with individuals, including children and adolescents. I also have expertise working with refugee communities, utilizing translators to coordinate the delivery of services for trauma treatment and emotional wellness. My areas of focus include the treatment of depression and anxiety, dissociative disorders, attachment issues and medical trauma.
Background
I hold a master’s degree in Clinical Psychology from Antioch University and advanced training in Cultural Competency, Somatic Experiencing, Structural Dissociation and IFS-Informed EMDR.
Following graduate school, I worked as a clinician in a sexual abuse treatment program for street children in Portland, ME and then became the Clinical Director for a youth agency serving teens transitioning from foster care. I was trained in EMDR in 2003 and in 2012 I became the Clinical Director at Trauma Recovery Humanitarian Assistance Program, overseeing the development of a National Trauma Recovery Network with EMDR clinicians. Additionally, I worked as a clinician in an Integrated Primary Care Practice developing a protocol for treating medically related stress.
Presently, I maintain a private practice in Western MA and serve as Clinical Supervisor for an In-home therapy program supporting refugee families. I am an EMDR Trainer and Consultant and a staff member for Bruce Hersey’s IFS-informed EMDR trainings.
Additionally, I offer my own EMDRIA approved trainings in Self Compassion for Trauma Treatment.
